2 nights in the guest house—1 night in a charming Saharian camp

Beyond the Atlas, the famous Oued Draa disappears in the huge waves of sands and leaves the place for the big spaces of dunes. We reach the sand dunes of Erg Chegaga, the largest and the most impressive group of dunes in Morocco, reaching a height of 300 m and a span of 40 km. An exotic landscape, calling for beautiful discoveries on feet and on camel’s back, in comfortable and charming camps along with marvelous Kasbahs and Ryads.

Day after day program

Day 1 : Marrakech

Arrival in the Imperial city of Marrakech. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2  : Marrakesh- Tichka col- Agdz

After enjoying a lovely breakfast, you meet your 4×4 driver, and then departure to cross the high Atlas by Tichka col (alt 2260 m). The trip continues towards Ouarzazate crossing Draa Valley to reach the wonderful landscapes of Agdz. Time allows you to benefit from the beautiful sights in the supurb Kasbah and discover the lovely palm grove of Agdz under the feet of Kissane djebel.

Day 3   :  Agdz- Draa Valley- M’hamid-erg Chegaga

The second day starts with a delicious breakfast in the guest house.  Then, departure by the track that runs along Oued Draa to join Ouled Driss and M’Hamid, which is the last village before the desert. Along the way, the trip plans to go deep in the Sahara and surprises you with an amazing visit to Tamegroute, a tiny town in the South of Zagora on the edge of the Sahara. One of the purposes for going this far south is to enjoy a visit to the priceless and magnificent Library, trucked away at the back of Tamegroute. The ancient Library, which was created in the XVII ème century, is rather small but the history it tells to its visitors is fascinating and unforgettable. The Library includes ancient books and manuscripts of illuminated Quran written on gazelle skin, along with works of history and medicine. After these memorable moments in the library, the visit continues towards Benslimane col, going down from Ouled Driss palm grove. It is possible to have lunch in a hostel before the departure directly to the south across the dunes of the erg Chegaga. The day comes to its end with two hours camel riding to enjoy sunset in the big dune.

Day 4  :  Chegaga- Foum Zguid- Ouarzazate

After enjoying breakfast in the camp, the departure starts from the desert crossing Iriki Lake (salted and dry lake) along the desert plateaus of Oued Naam and Oued Laatache. The trip goes through erg Ezarh dune, before arriving to Tazenaght, and then carries on through the track of Fint oasis before reaching Ouarzazate, the end of the journey.

Day 5  : Ouarzazate- Ait Ben Haddou- Telouet- Marrakesh

After breakfast, departure in the morning to explore the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, which is classified a World Heritage of the UNESCO.  The famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou is where a number of movies have been filmed including: The Gladiator, The Mummy, Babel, Asterix… etc. Your journey continues towards discovering the long Ounila Valey to join Telouet and its magnificent Kasbah Jadis Fief of the powerful family El Glaoui lords of the High Atlas and Pasha of Marrakesh.

Day 6 : Marrakech – Menara Airport

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Marrakech airport. End of our services.
