Day 1 : Marrakech – lodging Aït Souka

Departure from your hotel to reach Imlil, a mountain village at the foot of Toubkal.

Installation at the cottage; tea and traditional lunch are served on the terrace.

Hike with the guide to climb to tizi n’Tamatert (2272 m), and possibly on a small summit above. At the same time for the acclimatization, for the beauty of the landscape, and also for the discovery of the way of life of the Berbers of the mountain.

Overnight at Aït Souka.

Quality cottage, with a superb view, held by Ahmed, Berber Adventure guide. Possibility of traditional beldi hammam to the lodging (price: 50 Dhs, indicative).

3 hours of walking – M = D: 500 m

Day 2 : climb to the Toubkal refuge

After a good breakfast on the terrace of the cottage, luggage is loaded on the mules, and go for the climb to the refuge. Aremd, small village and marabout Sidi Chamarouch, and by large curves the trail climbs towards the refuge. Lunch picnic en route, prepared by the local team.

Overnight at the Toubkal hut (Neltner hut, 3210 m).

5:30 walk – M = 1,200 m.

Day 3 : summit of Toubkal (4167m) – back down into the valley

The ascent of the summit, on a good trail and good tracks, presents no difficulty, except altitude. The trail goes up a small valley and leads to the wide ridge that leads to the summit. From here, you dominate a large part of the Atlas, the plains of Haouz to the north, the Ifni lake to the south, and an endless horizon towards Ouarzazate and the desert.

The descent is made by the same route and, from the refuge, after lunch, return to the valley.

Night in a cottage at Aït Souka.

9 hours of walking – M = 1050 m – D = 2270 m.

Day 4 : Aït Souka – Marrakech

Short descent on Imlil. The driver is waiting in the village to take you back to Marrakech where you arrive at the end of the morning.
