TRAVEL DETAILS
DAY 1: Marrakech
Arrival at Marrakech international airport.
Transfer to your hotel.
Night in a 3 * category hotel or Riad
Day 2: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Nesrat
We will leave around 8 hours from Marrakech to Ouarzazate crossing the High Atlas via the Col du Tichka (2260 m). On arrival in Ouarzazate you will discover the capital of cinema in Morocco. We will pass the Anti Atlas, before descending to the Draa Valley with its ksars, magnificent fortified villages, and the city of Zagora. We will continue to the great desert of Nesrat where we will meet our team of camel drivers. Night in tents. We will travel 5 hours on the first day
Day 3: Nesrat – Dunes Bou Gaiwarne – Dunes Tidri
This will be our first day of hiking. We will descend the Draa valley passing through its charming Berber villages: Ignaoun, Moulay Ali Achrif. We will have the opportunity to meet the locals. Then we will head to the village of Zaouiat Sidi Salah (the capital of the region). The midday meal will be prepared by our cook in the middle of an oasis. Another 1h30 walk to reach our camp at the foot of the big dune of Tidri. Night in tents. We will walk for 5 hours during the day.
Day 4: Tidri – Erg Sahel
A beautiful stage during which you can go up and down the Tidri Golden Dunes. We will cross a hard and rocky plateau (called a Reg) with its stone desert. Very little sand here, just the silence of the desert in the heart of the pristine dunes of the Erg Sahel. In the afternoon, walk in the dunes to enjoy the magnificent sunset at the end of the day. In the evening we prepare a fire and bake the bread in the sand. Night in the tent. 5 hours of walking.
Day 5: Erg Sahel- Ergabi dunes – Oulad Driss
Our last day of walking will make you discover desert landscapes near the village of Bonou. We will have lunch near the village of Ergabi. During the afternoon, we will discover the architecture and mud houses of Ergabi, before reaching the village of Ouled Driss. After the shower, visit the village of Oulad Driss and have tea in a Kasbah sign. 4.30 hour walk during the day. Overnight in Oulad Driss.
Day 6: Ouled Driss – Ouarzazate – Marrakech.
Transfer to Marrakech (450 km) by road to the Drâa valley, Ouarzazate and the Tizi N’Tichka pass. Along the way, a few photo stops are planned.
DAY 7: Departure
